When you're in a tight spot, you can always rely on Frank J. Gaffney Jr., to bail you out. Well, George W. Bush thinks so... so it must be true. Gaffney is the founder and C.E.O. of the Center for Security Policy, the National Security Advisory Council (NSAC) of which has direct access to Bush's ear. It has a membership reading like a neocon 40-year reunion party. He is also a senior advisor to Americans for Victory Over Terrorism (AVOT).

The power of the mainstream media is, unfortunately, very real. The goons paying limp-wrist journalistic poseurs to churn out acres of nauseating schlock and PR carefully crafted to order, know this. With the U.S. neocons and the mythic al-Qa'ida being cut from the same cloth, very little short of a revolution is going to deflect them from their chosen course of action. They are masters of duplicity and their daily dishrags, heavily soaked in ether and chloroform, have turned Western brains to mush.

As Brian Moffat points out in a comment below, the devil is always in the details. Too many people are chasing too few details and, to the delight of those running the show, they have completely lost the plot and all sight of the devil.

The current brouhaha over comments made by Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mahathir Mohamad and U.S. deputy undersecretary of defense, Army Lt. Gen. William Boykin are cases in point. Every newspaper I've read has chased these stories for all they are worth and have now flogged them to death. That they are utterly devoid of anything newsworthy does not deter the media moguls. They will dish up a daily gruel of thinly disguised drain water to the very end, starving their readers with a surfeit of malnourishment.

Gah! It makes me want to puke. These two stories are smokescreens behind which the scum running the show spread their vile deceits.

Have you read Mahathir Mohamad's now-notorious speech, a piece of oratory which, if the mainstream press and hysterical Israeli lobby are to be believed, will live in infamy unto the umpteenth generation? It's called Close Ranks, Muslims Urged. It's damned good. Please read it and make up your own bloody mind for a change. No, really. Which bit of Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad's speech at the opening of OIC summit is inflammatory, offensive, repugnant and deserving of contempt?

That he called on Muslims to use their brains and not just brawn to fight their enemies? That he told them to stop blowing themselves up? And not act out of anger as irrational acts only beget more violence? Or that the Malaysian leader told Muslims they could learn a lesson or two from the Jews? And that numbers alone do not make strength? Or was it his remarks that the Jews have become arrogant and arrogant people make mistakes? Or that the Jews rule the world by proxy and get others to fight and die for them?

Now, really, which of these are untrue?

Just take the Jewish-rule-the-world by proxy comment. Why the uproar about it? Isn't this a known fact? The difference perhaps is that others have not expressed it in such blatant terms as the plain-speaking Malaysian Prime Minister. more...

If this article makes you turn blue in the face, gives you hot flushes or palpitations, makes your blood curdle or turn to ice, or compels you to bludgeon the nearest Arab to death with the ubiquitous baseball bat, you need help. Fast.

U.S. deputy undersecretary of defense, Army Lt. Gen. William Boykin's comments to the pie-in-the-sky chapter of the Bible for cornflakes brigade is as much a joke. D'ya think he suddenly 'got religion'? Nah, Bubba, Boykin has always been Boykin and the Boys in the Bunker know it. That's why he has the job he has.

Who's going to investigate him? They haven't made up their minds yet. Why not put Attorney-General John Ashcroft onto his case? We all know he will be impartial, objective and fair in pronouncing judgment on the poor deluded fool. Boykin's only sin is that he is a happy-clapper given power by people who think like him. They were put into office by tens of millions who think like them. They have candyfloss for brains.

Frank J. Gaffney Jr. is well known to most who've followed the fortunes of those in charge of United States foreign policy, a body of political practice that affects a hell of a lot more than 290 million people. Under cover of the Mahathir Mohamad / William Boykin carpet-bombing PR farce, he slipped his latest little piece of twisted thinking, a virulent screed of hate ignored by the international press, to his carefully selected target market, i.e. those who matter.

Gaffney's article, Know Thy Enemy, is a classic piece of propaganda, cranking up fear and loathing of dirty turbaned Arabs and other sand-flea creatures to unprecedented levels. Behind his smarmy, sanctimonious doublespeak, convoluted inversions and snide innuendo lies a message of death. Read it.

The most determined, numerous and dangerous of these enemies are radical, violent Muslims known as "Islamists." ... Most experts believe that the Islamists are, at present, a small percentage of the Muslim faithful worldwide. The danger is that, since there are approximately 1.6 billion Muslims, even a small percentage could mean there are millions available to serve as cannon-fodder for the radicals. Worse yet, all things being equal, their numbers will continue to grow, thanks in no small measure to the assiduous efforts of Islamist regimes in Saudi Arabia and Iran (the former of the Sunni Wahhabi stripe, the latter favoring Shiite extremism).

All too often, such efforts are accompanied — and systematically advanced — by an insidious disinformation campaign. Its main thrust is that anyone who dares to point out the threat posed by the Islamists is a racist, bigot or ignoramus. Why? Because, we are told, such observations impugn all Muslims. ... This is, of course, absurd. Law-abiding and tolerant Muslims first and foremost understand that there are real differences between themselves and the Islamists — so much so that the radicals view their peaceable co-religionists with at least as much hostility as they do people of other faiths.

Among those most aggressively promoting the idea that Islamists are indistinguishable from any other Muslims are a number of Arab-American and Muslim-American organizations long associated with jihadists and their causes. Since 9/11, they have tried to obscure their true colors by promoting the fiction that they are defenders of all people of the Islamic faith, rather than what they actually are: apologists for the radicals among them, focused on initiatives that have the effect of excusing, protecting or otherwise benefitting the latter.

Fortunately, some of these organizations (notably several founded by or associated with Abdurahman Alamoudi - the Islamist-sympathizer indicted last month for receiving illegal funding from Libya) have recently come under increasing scrutiny from law enforcement and the Congress. The American Muslim Council, the American Muslim Foundation, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Islamic Society of North America and the Muslim Student Association have had officials arrested and/or troubling questions raised on Capitol Hill about their activities in our prisons, military chaplain corps, mosques and colleges.

In light of the arrests and worrisome revelations, it is all the more astounding that such groups enjoy any credibility at all when they denounce those who warn of Islamists hijacking and perverting the Muslim faith. The latest example of this phenomenon has been an attack mounted in the past week by the Islamists' proponents on one of the Nation's most highly regarded, experienced and decorated Special Forces officers, Lieutenant General William "Jerry" Boykin. Gen. Boykin recently assumed the post of Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence. In that capacity, he is charged with the priority tasks of hunting down Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein and their ilk.

This respected Pentagon official became the subject of intense and mostly hostile media attention after an inveterate leftist activist-turned columnist and TV commentator named William Arkin circulated videotaped and other materials. In them, the general professed his Christian faith and reviled Muslim extremists — yes, extremists — on both religious and strategic grounds. ... Whatever one thinks of Gen. Boykin's obviously deeply held personal beliefs, he must be credited with one thing: He understands that Islamists have declared war on this country and that we have no alternative but to defeat them.

For stating this truth, the general has been roundly criticized by the Islamists' admirers and their friends. Notably, one of the most visible of the professional Muslim agitators — CAIR's executive director, Nihad Awad — has accused Gen. Boykin of "ignorance," having "extremist views" and exhibiting sufficiently defective judgment as to require his reassignment.

To their credit, President Bush, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Joint Chiefs Chairman General Richard Myers have thus far declined to accede to this sort of pressure. While the Administration's party line remains that the United States has no interest in waging war against Islam, it would be a significant breakthrough if American officials can now frankly address the nature of our most dangerous foes: Radicals seeking to justify their terror by masquerading as bonafide sic adherents to the Islamic faith.

If we are to fight the Islamists effectively, we need to appreciate and highlight the threat they pose not only to non-Muslims but also to the non-jihadist Muslim world. This will, in turn, require the sharpest possible clarity about whether, to paraphrase President Bush, Muslims — at home and abroad — are with us, or with the Islamists.

Way to go, Frank. That your dirty little mind has been able to thread this camel's arse of a document through the eye of a barrage of misinformation is no surprise at all. Who the hell reads the Jewish World Review? Well, according to the august publication in question, it "publishes what many in Washington and in the media consider 'must reading.'"

I'm not surprised. With similar sewage belching from the minds of Daniel Pipes (Director of the Middle East Forum and, with ex officio member Douglas Feith, a Bush appointee to the U.S. Institute for Peace who was all too obviously severely bullied as a child) and my new friend Professor Alan Dershowitz, who has a piece titled Should Arafat finally be assassinated?, any Jewish reader not inoculated against this rabid hate-mongering is bound to feel a tad threatened.

And, uh... yes, it was first published by the Center for Security Policy.

As for its content, I regard it as infinitely more dangerous than anything Mahathir Mohamad or William Boykin have released into the public domain. Why? Because the message of the former was deliberately misinterpreted and people with an IQ above 40 treat the message of the latter for what it is; the ravings of a sad fool.

Gaffney, who offers a detailed biography here, is one of countless whiz-kids peopling the likes of the PNAC, USIP, MEF, JINSA, and the CSP. He is, as it were, a very different kettle of fish. He is too clever for his own good; and that of the rest of the world. He is one of the devils in the welter of detail under which any hope of salvaging a sustainable future is slowly being crushed.

Boykin? Who the hell is Boykin? A baby-sitter for a job with built-in design defects. Let the fool speak. We know this is a Crusade. George said so and Gaffney shares George's views. In fact, he shapes them. Gaffney says, "Muslims — at home and abroad — are with us, or with the Islamists." Guess who Gaffney thinks they're with? Tough, eh? So much for Mahathir Mohamad and his anti-Semitism.
